I became passionate about educating myself on the birth process when I was pregnant with my first child. We hired a doula and Iearned as much as we could about childbirth to prepare for our big day. The day finally came and it was long, but wonderful. I came out of it feeling alive, strong, and very empowered. Our doula's support before and during labor & delivery was crucial, and I knew that I needed to help other women positvely experience the miracle that is birth.
I began the birth doula certification process in 2006, and I received my birth doula certification through DONA International, the largest doula organization in the world, in June of 2007. I am also a Child Passenger Safety Technician.
My husband, Matt, and I live in Rochester with our four children.
